Because of recent media reports concerning an Oklahoma oral surgeon who treated patients in unsafe conditions and may have exposed them to hepatitis and HIV, our office would like to assure you that we abide by strict infection control guidelines. Infection control refers to the recommended safety precautions that all healthcare professionals, including dentists, follow to protect patients from disease.
Because many dental procedures involve direct contact with blood and saliva, safety protocols are put in place to help stop the spread of disease. Steam sterilization of dental instruments helps prevent the spread of diseases like hepatitis and HIV. By following stringent practices, we at Councill Dental Group maintain a commitment to your health and safety. You can be confident that we strive to provide the best quality care to you, our patients, by utilizing the most current safety protocols.
