Dental crowns allow Dr. R. Terry Councill to restore teeth to optimal health and beauty. We can create personalized restorations specifically designed to address the patient’s unique smile. Typically, crowns would require about a month to design, fabricate, and place. Now, with the advanced dental technology available at Councill Dental Group, we can offer one-visit crowns.
What are One-Visit Crowns?
Our one-visit crowns are created using CEREC technology, which employs 3D computer technology and an innovative milling machine. This allows our office to craft custom-made crowns, inlays, and onlays in just one visit. Dr. Councill was one the earliest practices to embrace this new technology, installing his first CEREC machine in 2000. Since then, he has educated other doctors and practices in his community on the benefits of one-visit crowns. He offers patients first hand knowledge and expertise in the creation and placement of CEREC restorations.

Placing One-Visit Crowns
If you require a dental crown to repair a damaged tooth or a tooth suffering from a cavity, Dr. Councill or Dr. Glass will thoroughly exam your tooth. Then a small portion of tooth structure will be removed to make room for the crown. For added comfort, we can offer sedation dentistry. We will then take photos of the tooth using intraoral cameras, which will be used to create a 3D image of your tooth. The information will be uploaded into our CEREC machine, which will mill the crown from a block of eMax porcelain. Once complete, Dr. Councill or Dr. Glass will check the fit and place the crown, all in one visit.
